Bio

(For my researcher profile, please visit here)

I am a Bolivian and naturalised-Italian PhD researcher and freelance photographer. I combine my research on socio-economic issues with photographic storytelling. My passion lies in narrating compelling and thought-provoking stories that transcend the typical portrayals of social challenges. I am specialised in portraying impact stories and research, focusing on development economics and international development. I like to think that my work is a blend of Bolivian melancholy, Italian Renaissance, and Ugandan colours.

As a PhD researcher, I have worked with the World Bank, Innovations for Poverty Action and the United Nations, and I am currently part of the research laboratory J-PAL, led by the 2019 Nobel Prize laureates in Economics. In these organisations, I have integrated my photographic work as a complementary tool to communicate processes, impact stories, and research findings. My photographs have been published in PhotoVogue, Fotografas LATAM, Foto Femme United, and other specialised platforms.

I am a strong supporter of ethics in both photography and research. I therefore provide full information to the people I photograph, seek verbal or written consent, and involve them in the process of narrating their own stories.
